New-look Silverjet website goes live
Start-up business class airline Silverjet went live with a new version of its website in time for the launch of its daily service from Luton to New York.
The website now offers additional online components such as a chauffeur driven limousine service, the ability to choose your in-flight meal from a selection of menus and seat selection.
Other enhancements also available on the site, which can be found at www.flysilverjet.com, include online check-in and the ability to print your boarding pass so customers can arrive at the airport much nearer to departure time.
According to Silverjet IT director George Henderson valet parking will be offered on the website in a few weeks time.
The airline has also signed a deal with an unnamed destination guide company, which will provide information on where to go and what to do in London and New York. The site will also get sophisticated mapping technology for consumers to find their way to airports as well as in and around cities.
Henderson also said the airline was keen to feature user-generated content in the future.
Speaking prior to the launch he said: “As soon as we get customers flying we will capture their reviews on our flights.”
Silverjet is also looking at offering hotels and dynamic packaging through the site through white label technology in the first instance followed by XML feeds from chosen partners once the airline has built up its passenger volumes.
Other plans in the pipeline include tie-ups with the big shopping comparison sites.
“The brand is getting more exposure so more and more people are coming to talk about working with us.”
