New low cost business class London airline: Maxjet
Flying across the Atlantic in comfort is set to become more affordable with the launch of a new London-New York service promising business class service at vastly reduced prices.
Maxjet took off Tuesday morning on its inaugural flight from Stansted airport to JFK. The low cost business-class-only airline offers fares starting at $679 one way, which is nearly half of fares on other airlines.
The low cost airline offers traditional business class amenities – such as premium business class lounges, pre-departure drinks, portable on-demand entertainment and a 60-inch seat pitch.
It is the second carrier to start up exclusively business class services from Stansted to New York, following the lead of American-owned Eos last month. While Eos is using Boeing 757s with just 48 seats, Maxjet is flying Boeing 767s with 102 seats.
Gary Rogliano, CEO of Maxjet, said that business class travel is an untapped market that should be made more affordable. “We are dedicated to creating a smarter way to fly and we intend to constantly evolve to meet all business class travellers’ needs.
