New low-cost carrier to sell through agents
A new low-cost carrier offering Gatwick-Prague flights starting at £35 one way is to sell through the trade.
Czech airline SmartWings is to start flights from Gatwick on November 1 and will pay five per cent commission to agents.
The carrier, which also serves the Czech capital from Dublin, is to offer six Boeing 737 flights a week and will reward early bookers by increasing prices closer to departures dates.
UK marketing manager Mark Mullord said: “SmartWings is bucking the UK trend for direct sell and UK travellers can either book direct with the airline or through their local travel agent.
“We are committed to working with the UK travel industry to sell seats.”
The airline is available via Amadeus, Galileo and Worldspan.
