New meeting planner perks
A Florida hotel has introduced a new meeting planner program that ties in with its somewhat unusual location in a major shopping mall.
The “Planner Perks” concept is simple: meeting planners acquire one-percent of all revenue generated by the amount of rooms sold.
“Planner Perks can be used to assist meeting planners in measuring the ROI of the meeting,” said Frank Couzo, director of sales and marketing at the Florida Mall Hotel in Orlando.
The perks are prepaid, Simon Visa gift cards that can be used at any of the various nationwide Simon-owned shopping centers.
The Florida Mall Hotel, the only mall-based hotel in Central Florida’s huge array of properties, recently completed a $23 million renovation that included a doubling of meeting facilities — from 20,000 to 40,000 square feet.
