New online accommodation provider emerges

A dynamic website and worldwide programme has been introduced by new online player getabed.co.uk formerly known as Key Resorts.

The accommodation provider, which was established 15 years ago with particular expertise in the US and Canada, will also offer travel agents an increased European portfolio and a worldwide programme.

Content covers more than 30,000 properties in 6,000 towns and cities across 112 different countries.

Getabed.co.uk has introduced a dynamic online booking system claiming to offer instant confirmation of bookings. It also gives agents the ability to dynamically package for themselves on their own sites using new XML options.

Online booking is available to agents 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Agents can print out instant confirmations, accommodation vouchers, together with detailed accommodation information and photos – or e-mail them direct to clients. Bookings can be amended online, and the company provides additional agent support via a Monday-Saturday freephone helpline on 0800 298 9443.

National sales manager Paul Davis said: “The change of name reflects our new worldwide focus. We want travel agents to know that we can get their clients a bed anywhere  – as well as getting them transfers, sightseeing tours, wedding packages, theatre and attraction tickets and more.

“Historically we have differed from most on-line accommodation-only providers by selling exclusively through travel agents. We remain totally committed to this trade-only policy and can now give agents faster, easier access to a wider range of product with ultra-competitive pricing.”

The re-launch is being supported by a competition for agents can win hotel accommodation, CDs, shopping vouchers, DVDs and iPods.
