New sales VP for Princess Cruises
John Chernesky has been appointed vice president of sales for North America at Princess Cruises and Cunard Line.
Chernesky will start work from June 1 and will oversee the US and Canadian field sales teams for both lines.
He succeeds Brian O’Connor who has been appointed vice president of public relations.
Chernesky was most recently vice president of onboard revenue and business development at Holland America Group, with responsibility for Princess Cruises, Holland America Line and Seabourn.
Chernesky joined Princess Cruises in 1992, and has also served in the hotel services department, and as director of passenger programs managing the youth and teen programs and onboard media.
In his new role he will be tasked with growing retail cruise sales with Princess and Cunard through strategic marketing.
"I look forward to working with travel retailers across North America to help them to grow their business with our two world-class brands," said Chernesky.
"Travel professionals play a key role in our company’s success and I am committed to their success as well."
