New strike threat for Heathrow
Aircraft refuelling workers at Heathrow are threatening to strike this weekend in a dispute over pay and pensions, with up to 40 airlines likely to be affected by the action.
The Daily Mail reports that the proposed 48-hour walkout will affect as many as 600 flights operated by carriers including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Qantas and American Airlines.
The threatened strike is by staff who work for AFS, which, according to the Mail, controls around 40 per cent of refuelling at the airport.
The company was reportedly set to hold talks with the Transport and General Workers Union today.
