New Tiger Woods golf project a big win for Branson
News of a Tiger Woods designed championship public golf course coming to Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri’s Ozark Mountains is giving the area a huge lift in terms of exposure and tourism potential.
Since the announcement was made last month more than 1,200 media stories have been published with an estimated potential audience of 2.8 billion, according to media monitiorig analysis.
Woods is collaborating with conservationist and Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris and the Payne Stewart family for the course, and there are also plans to supplement this with a future Woods-designed par-3 short course at Big Cedar.
"We’re overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response for our partnership with Tiger Woods and the Stewart family. Partnering with an internationally acclaimed celebrity athlete like Tiger will significantly enhance our ability to connect people to nature at Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri’s beautiful Ozark Mountains," Morris said.
It will be called ‘Payne’s Valley’ as a tribute to the late Payne Stewart and complements an already comprehensive lineup of golf, angling and shooting options at Big Cedar Lodge.
Making waves as Americ’s next great golf deetination, Big Cedar already has a nine-hole par-3 course designed by Jack Nicklaus, a 16- hole practice facility and 18-hole championship course designed by Tom Fazio.
Two additional courses are slated to open within the next two years; a new 13-hole Mountain Top Course designed by golf legend Gary Player and ‘The Ozarks’ 18-hole championship course.
