New Tourism Levy introduced in The Gambia
The Gambian Tourism Authority (GTA) has introduced a new Tourism Development Levy.
The introduction of the new Tourism Development Levy by the Gambian Tourism Authority (GTA) has gone smoothly. The new levy was introduced by the GTA on November 1st. A levy of £5 per arriving tourist is charged on arrival in The Gambia and is collected between immigration and the baggage hall.
The levy is to be used to support Gambian Tourism and consultations are taking place with stakeholders about how the levy should be used.
