Expect an unreal consumer response to Queensland’s new unreal deals

Travel agents should expect the phone to ring hot over the next month with consumers keen to find out more about Queensland’s new ‘Unreal Deals’, Tourism Queensland CEO Anthony Hayes said.

Mr Hayes said Tourism Queensland’s latest $1 million holiday marketing campaign – in partnership with Sunlover Holidays – begins this week and is firmly aimed at luring budget sensitive

Australians to Queensland with a variety of deals.

“Unreal Deals promotes more than 150 deals from over 130 operators across Queensland,” he said. “The campaign targets Sydney and Melbourne social fun-seekers, as well as holidaymakers in Brisbane and other parts of Australia.

“With the tagline ‘the best deals on the best Queensland holidays’, the campaign will run from mid July to mid August on television, press, radio and online.

“We’re also distributing bundles of a special eight-page flyer to travel agents throughout Australia.”

AOT Group CEO Andrew Burnes said it was no secret that consumers had become increasingly price-sensitive and were more inclined to shop around before making purchase decisions on the best deal which suits their needs.

“Consumers are currently waiting to see how lucrative the deals can get before they commit,” Mr Burnes said. “It’s safe to say that these Unreal Deals from Sunlover Holidays are the best we have to offer – there has never been a better time to travel to Queensland.

“The Queensland tourism industry has dug deep and come up with extremely competitive offers to give the travelling public a number of great reasons to round up the family, get a group of friends together or take that romantic break in Queensland that’s been on the to-do list.”

Mr Hayes said utilising a wholesale partner such as Sunlover Holidays ensured immediate and broad national retail distribution for the campaign.

“Partnering with Sunlover Holidays for this campaign means that consumers will have great access to booking a range of budget-friendly deals.

“The deals are for destinations across Queensland with specials such as bonus free nights and/or great bonus inclusions on three to seven nights accommodation and cruising holidays, along with ‘Buy 1 get 1 free’ day tours.”

Travel agents registered with Sunlover Holidays can win $1000 each day for 25 days – from a total prize pool of $25,000 – by becoming the highest selling ‘Unreal Deals’ consultant of the day.

“There’s no doubt that travellers have become price conscious when considering their travel options so the great deals being promoted by this campaign offer consumer enticement to book a Queensland holiday.”

Queensland’s Unreal Deals will be on sale from 19 July to 23 August for travel between 19 July and 24 December, with some exclusion dates applying.
