New trans-Pacific offering will be good for business
Business clients would welcome the advent of Air Canada flights from Australia to continental America, as bringing more competition and choice on the route, according to FCm Travel Solutions.
Air Canada plans to start daily flights from Sydney to Los Angeles and onwards to Toronto in eastern Canada from late 2007.
“Anything that helps our clients drive their travel and conference expenditure further through increased competition and sharper fares is a positive thing for corporates,” said FCm Travel Solutions Executive General Manager Anthony Grigson.
“From a client perspective, additional competition and choice is always healthy, and as a travel manager it’s our role to help clients achieve the best results. So from that perspective, having additional flight and carrier options is welcome.”
Mr Grigson said Air Canada’s plan to introduce its new 777 aircraft on the route, cutting almost four hours off the fastest existing travel times between Sydney and Toronto and equipped with the latest in lie-flat seats in its executive first cabin, will also be well received by the corporate market.
