New UK website and agent training from Crystal Cruises
Luxury line Crystal Cruises has introduced a new UK website and developed an online training programme for agents.
The new site at www.crystalcruises.co.uk includes fares in sterling, downloadable booking forms and supplements, a travel agent search function and the UK air-seas programme.
The Cruise Builder online booking engine for agents has been enhanced with the ability to change cabins and/or categories for existing bookings and also cancel bookings.
Agents can view all of their bookings, whether made online or by phone and make changes as necessary.
At the time of booking, dining requests can also be made on Cruise Builder, with new notations for the later dining reservations available with European cruises.
Additional online improvements in the pipeline include the ability to revise clients’ dining requests, make name changes prior to deposit and links to further booking information on the website.
The first phase of the CrystalCruisesAcademy.com training programme is the line’s first interactive online e-learning workshop.
Almost 73% of Crystal guests had moved up from mass market or premium cruise lines in 2005, and the line recognises the “tremendous opportunity” for agents to sell up, earn more commission and gain more repeat business through greater customer satisfaction.
Sophie Higgins, Crystal Cruises’ UK sale and marketing director, said agents are keen to sell luxury cruises and are hungry for the selling tools to help them achieve this.
Higgins said: “This programme not only educates during the online process but continues the assistance with tangible follow up materials and the personal guidance and expertise of our sales team.”
