New Vietnam visa policy sees surge in applications
The new Vietnam visa policy has seen an immediate surge in tourism.
The extended validity for tourist visas took effect on August 15.
In the two weeks since, a total of 112,058 applications for Vietnam visas have been submitted, marking a 70% increase.
The new Vietnam visa system expanded the number of countries able to use the e-visa.
Citizens of newly eligible countries made up around 50% of new applications.
Visa length of stay was extended to up to 90 days and offers multiple entry.
The separate visa waiver, which has also been extended, is also offered for nationals of select countries.
