New Years Honours: see who made the list in the travel sector
The travel and tourism sector has been represented at all levels in the New Year honours list, published today.
The list includes well-known names such as Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins, author Anthony Horowitz and Karren Brady, Sir Alan Sugar’s righthand woman on The Apprentrice.
Those honoured for their services to travel and tourism included:

KBE: Timothy Charles Clark. President, Emirates Airline, Dubai, UAE. For services to British prosperity and to the Aviation Industry.
MBE: Edmund Patrick Gerard Cochrane. Founder, Downpatrick and County Down Railway. For services to Railway Preservation and Tourism in County Down, Northern Ireland. (Downpatrick, Down)
MBE: Timothy Edward Husbands. Chief executive, Titanic Belfast. For services to Economic Development and Tourism in Northern Ireland. (Antrim)
BEM: Mrs Margaret Deering. Proprietor, Ballycastle House Bed and Breakfast. For services to the Tourism Industry in Northern Ireland. (Newtownards, Down)
BEM: Mrs Anne Elizabeth Phillips. Manager, Peacocks Restaurant, McEwen’s of Perth. For services to Business and Tourism in Perthshire. (Balbeggie, Perth and Kinross)
MBE: Mrs Mary Patricia O’Kane. Proprietor, Beech Hill Country House Hotel, Londonderry. For services to Tourism and Hospitality in Northern Ireland. (Londonderry)
