New York rolling out vaccination drive for Broadway theaters
NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced a vaccination drive to help turn on the bright lights of Broadway. The Mayor wants a fast-track vaccination program for theater workers and actors so Broadway theaters can start reopening in the fall.
"We will move heaven and earth to bring Broadway back," de Blasio said. It will be focsed on actors and technicians so rehearsals and set building can commence in the coming months ahead of reopening for the busy fall theater season.
The city will set up a vaccination center exclusively for theater workers, as well as setting up pop-up vaccination sites at Off Broadway theaters.
