New Zealand shaken by off-coast earthquake
New Zealand was hit by tremors after an earthquake off the East Cape of New Zealand, measuring 6.5 magnitude, earlier this morning.
GeoNet said the earthquake was about 31 kilometres underground.
There was damage reported at Ohope, in the Bay of Plenty and tremors were felt as far away as Dunedin.
