The board of Treasure Island and Bounty Island Resorts has appointed Mr Graeme Back as General Manager, effective immediately.
Announcing the appointment from Fiji, Chairman of Treasure Island Limited, Bill Whiting, said Mr. Back brought exceptional experience into his new role at both resorts.
Prior to his appointment Mr Back was General Manager of the Park Heritage Rotorua for five years, the hotel earning a prestigious Australian Pacific Tours ‘Hotel of the year’ accolade’ in 2004.
His experience also includes four years as General Manager, Queenstown, for Real Journeys and General Manager of Milford Sound.
Mr Back also spent a two year stint as Hotel Manager at the iconic Out Back Pioneer Hotel Ayers Rock Resort in Central Australia during which time he led the property to a Northern Territory Tourism Award and a finalist’s berth in the 1993 Australian Tourism Awards.
Mr Whiting said Mr Back’s selection was a reflection of his extensive international hotelier experience and came at a key moment in the resort’s ongoing development as a first-class resort.
“Since its appointment 12 months ago, the current board has spent more than AU$2 million on everything from new water activities, boats, equipment and particularly on bure renovation, all of which have earned Treasure Island Resort recognition as a first-class holiday resort.
“We are confident that Mr. Back will build further on these developments,” he said.
Mr Back replaces former General Manager Greg Cornwall who has taken on a new role as General Manager at the recently-opened Golf Terraces Apartments on Fiji’s Denarau Island.
