C&M reports the average salary for a standard travel job (those paying up to £40,000) rose by a huge 7.81% last month to set a new record. January’s figure of £26,337 is the highest salary recorded since the index began in 2012 and marks only the second time the £26,000 barrier has been breached. But overall, wages fell back by 2.73% in January to stand at £28,337 due to a lack of higher paid executive placements.

Arbitrip, the Israeli-founded business travel management platform, is opening an office in London. With an office already in Tel Aviv, the expansion means the tech start-up is now able to rapidly drive its footprint across the EMEA region.

Travel and events management business, the ATPI Group, is launching a new technology-focused investment strategy. As part of this strategy the company is launching its Endeavour programme, developed to offer both financial backing and market knowledge to technology start-ups that are disrupting and driving the sector.

Global Travel Group has added to its software and tools available to members at an exclusive rate following a new partnership with travel technology company Net Effect. As part of the agreement, members will have the option to subscribe to a host of products all designed to streamline efficiencies for their own marketing and customer relations activities and drive sales.
