Nine in 10 travelers ‘not worried’ about terrorism threats
Travelers are less worried about terrorism or safety threats than falling ill or having a flight delay.
Research among travelers reveals terrorism/safety threats are bottom of a ‘stress list’ of travel concerns.
When asked to list their main concerns, 73% said they worried about unexpected illness or injury, while 56% stated flight delays or cancellations.
Almost half (45%) are concerned about needing a medical evaluation; 40% worry about the health of a loved one and 26% worry about the weather or natural disasters.
Last on the list was "concern over terrorism or safety threats", cited by just 11 % of respondents.
"This survey shows travelers are most stressed out about the unexpected. Especially with flu and cold season underway, it’s not surprising that most are concerned about health issues during their trip," said Jim Grace, CEO of travel insurance comparison site InsureMyTrip, which carried out the research among 400 people.
"But we did notice travelers appear to be more confident when traveling, with little worry about terrorism or other safety threats while traveling to their holiday destination."
