No business like snow business in Japan
Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) will host its annual Japan Snow & Adventure seminar in Melbourne on May 19 and Sydney May 26 for outbound travel agents and airline partners.
Representatives from Japan’s three main ski regions – Hokkaido, Nagano, and Niigata and Tohoku – will make presentations and provide one-on-one consultations for agents.
Prior to the seminars, JNTO will exhibit at this year’s Snow Travel Expo, to be held in Melbourne on May 18 and Sydney on May 25.
SkiJapan.com’s general manager Marcus Williams said skiing in Japan "just gets bigger each year" and the 2014-15 season had attracted strong early interest.
"There’s a continued focus on families with several resorts offering incentives like free lift passes and free rental gear for kids," he said.
The previous snow season in Japan saw a large increase in Australian visitor numbers with a record 63,967 Aussies visiting in the first two months of 2014.
Japan ski travel specialists at the Snow Travel Expos will be:
Travelplan, Skijapan.com, Ski Japan Holidays, Liquid Snow Tours, JTB, Asia Escape Holidays, Ski Max, Blue Powder Tours, The Ski Travel Company, Snowcapped Tours, Mogul Ski World, Sno’n’Ski, Whiteroom Tours.
