No-frills shares lose ground

There were few moves of any note among travel and tourism shares as London’s equity markets registered small gains.

 

The FTSE 100 index gained 16.5 points to end the day at 4503.2, while the broader-based FTSE 250 did slightly less well, closing the session 5.7 points to the good at 6193.9. 

 

EasyJet and Ryanair both lost ground, dropping 3p to 154.5p and 2.75p to 298p respectively, while British Airways moved ahead 3.25p to 264p.
