No more news at TSG, Orient Pacific or Travelshop
With Perth based Travel Services Group having officially called in administrators to handle its financial affairs, after reportedly, TSG’s chairman, Joe Ferrone, declaring himself bankrupt, it appears that there is little clarification emerging for TSG businesses or for the industry.
Reports from WA say that as a result of allegations of making unauthorised payments. Ferrone had already resigned his chairmanship of Australian Waterwise Solutions.
With TSG owning wholesaler Orient Pacific Holidays and Travelshop agencies calls to OPS were answered by voice mail advising that the company went into administration at 7:00pm on Tuesday 20 March and all enquiries should be made to PBB, which is the Melbourne based chartered accountants appointed as administrator, with Rod Flattery managing the administration.
Calls to Perth based TSG were answered but the person that answered the phone said that they were there only until the end of the week and that all enquiries should be directed to RSM Bird Cameron which has appointed Neil Cribb and Mark Conlan to either join the administrators or manage TSG’s finances, which is the case is not clear.
Travelshop agents have been instructed to stop taking bookings with increasing speculation regarding the potential of misappropriation of trust funds.
