Norfolk Island Shopfest Combines Island Stopover
Australia’s closest overseas destination, Norfolk Island, is offering visitors a great way to snap up hot Christmas bargains while enjoying a South Pacific island holiday.
Travellers who fly to the island with Norfolk Air in early December* will be able to shop for Christmas bargains at discount twilight markets and gain shopping vouchers to the value of $100 into the bargain.
The Christmas Shopfest will operate from December 11-14 and offer a wide range of imported items for discounts of at least 25 per cent off already low prices.
“Norfolk’s low tax rates already means it can sell imported clothing, footwear, perfumes, cosmetics, beauty products, sportswear, cameras, toys and even diamonds cheaper than in Australia, so to be looking at another 25 percent off those prices adds up to a very good deal,” said Norfolk Island Chamber of Commerce President Belinda Grube.
“About 30 retailers have lined up to operate stalls in the Christmas Shopfest, which will operate on the evenings of December 11, 12, 13 and 14 and offer live entertainment, fashion parades, food stalls, spot specials and a lucky shopper draw offering a top quality half carat Champagne coloured Argyle diamond from the island’s internationally renown Diamonds Exclusive studio.”

“And if you’re looking for more than just shopping and enjoying the island’s isolation there’s fishing, golf, diving, trekking, cycling, horse riding, sea kayaking, farm tours and a host of other activities and tours to keep you occupied,” Mr McInnes said.
To celebrate the Christmas Shopfest, Norfolk & Pacific Holidays is offering three and seven night packages including return airfares, on-island airport transfers and accommodation with continental breakfasts each day from $789 per person twin share out of Brisbane and $849 per person twin share from Sydney. A seven-night getaway with similar inclusions is also available from Newcastle for $979 per person twin share. Call 1800 111 653 or email: [email protected].
