North Korea rolls out first tourism ads
North Korea has released its first series of travel ads encouraging more Russian tourists to visit.
Tourism ads filmed on Majeon Beach showing young bikini clad Russians frolicking on the beach have been going viral online.
The country isn’t fully open to tourism but has been welcoming some Russian group tours.
The ads are aimed at the Russian market which has maintained strong ties with the North Korea regime.
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Pyongyang in the summer.
The ads are the first sign of North Korea specifically targeting foreign tourists outside of China.
North Korea reopened its borders to limited tourism early this year.
In February, the country welcomed a group of 100 Russian tourists to one of its ski resorts. skiing excursion.
