Northern Territory hosts Trailfinders Australia Academy in the outback
Thirty Trailfinders agents have just returned from the Red Centre attending their prestigious Australia Academy (3-6 May 2025) in the heart of Australia’s Northern Territory.
It is only the second time the travel company has brought the program to Australian soil.
Designed to inspire agents, the Academy provided the chance to deepen agents’ understanding of the Northern Territory’s tourism offerings through an exciting on-ground experience.
This year’s Academy was delivered in collaboration with Tourism Northern Territory and Voyages, with Qantas sponsoring all the flights.
The Academy kicked off with two workshop days at Ayers Rock Resort with representatives from key industry suppliers including:
Luxury Lodges of Australia
THL
APT Touring
Qantas
Voyages
G’Day Group
During their stay at Ayers Rock Resort agents were treated to sunrises and sunsets experiences with.
Experiences included Wintjiri Wiru and the new Sunrise Journeys.
The group then travelled to Kings Canyon for one-night hosted by G’Day Group at Discovery Kings Canyon Resort.
The visit included a midday hike of the Kings Canyon Rim Walk, sunset canapes and drinks at the Light Towers art installaton, followed by a dinner experience called Under A Desert Moon.
It also included pre-and post-Academy tours with four of the agents heading to the Top End of the Northern Territory visiting Darwin, Kakadu National Park, Litchfield National Park and Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge.
Ellie Barret, Trailfinders (Leeds) said: “Uluru was the most amazing backdrop for the Australia Academy. It was such a privilege to be there and I learnt so much.”
Tourism NT expects to benefit from increased sales and bookings.
Lucy Pares, Markets Manager for UK said: “The agents left the NT inspired, excited and with a much greater understanding of how to sell the territory. We scratched the surface of what the NT offers but they’ve learnt a lot from our territory wide partners who attended the Academy.”
