Northern Territory Minister welcomes increase in tourism
The ABC says that Northern Territory Tourism Minister Paul Henderson considers that a $10 million investment by the Territory Government in international tourism marketing has paid off.
The latest figures from Tourism Research Australia show tourist numbers have increased by 3.7% for the year to March.
Mr Henderson said that international holiday-makers are also staying longer and are spending more money and that the statistics are good news for local businesses.
He added, “A very happy $10 million investment because we can really see tourism numbers significantly increasing across the Northern Territory.”
“$372 million into our economy, that’s a lot of jobs, that’s a lot of business for Territory operators.”
