With 8% growth, Norway international tourism experienced an excellent year 2025. The Scandinavian country saw for the first time 7.196 million international tourists, passing for the first time the 7-million mark. Compared to pre-Covid year 2019, international arrivals have grown by 75%.

In total, Norway welcomed last year over 20.356 million visitors arrivals, up by 1% compared to 2024. The slight increase is due to a drop of 2% in domestic travelers. Compared to 2019, all arrivals show an increase of 33%.

The growth from the international segment for overnights is even stronger than arrivals’ number. At 14.165 million, international overnights are up by 14%, while domestic overnights progressed by 1% at 26.424 million. International overnights generate now a market share of 35%.

The top five countries in overnights are Germany at 2.56 million, representing a market share of 18%, followed by the United States at 1.635 million (12% market share), Sweden at 1.309 million (9% market share), the Netherlands at 0.985 million (7% market share), the UK at 0.977 million (7% market share) and Denmark at 0.896 million (6% market share).

Meanwhile, in terms of the most popular destination in overnights, Oslo generated 30% of all overnights at 6.93 million, followed by Bergen and its region with a market share of 7% (3.31 million) and by Romerike, a region Southeast of Oslo, as well as the Stavanger Region.
