Norwegian planning to open LAX base
Scandinavian low fare airline Norwegian Air plans to open a West Coast base at Los Angeles Airport.
Norwegian CEO Bjorn Kjos said it would be natural progression due to the number of flights the carrier now operates to and from LAX.
"Logistically it is much easier to have a base where you have many routes from. It’s going to get more connections, "Kjos said.
Norwegian flies to LA from Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm.
Currently the airline has two US crew bases in New York JFK and Fort Lauderdale.
Last month the carrier announced nonstop round trips will begin from Las Vegas to Copenhagen and Stockholm later this year.
