NSW operators get behind bonus APEC weekend getaway campaign.
Tourism operators around NSW are getting behind the campaign to encourage Sydneysiders to visit regional NSW for the bonus APEC long weekend from 7 – 9 September, the Minister for Tourism, Matt Brown said yesterday.
Mr Brown said operators from regional NSW had offered 59 weekend prize packages to date, which would be given away during radio and print promotions in August, adding, “Holiday accommodation prizes have come from far and wide, including several from the Hunter region, Central NSW, South Coast and Mid North Coast”.
“We have also received prizes from operators on the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Northern Rivers, New England North West, Capital Country, Outback NSW and the Snowy Mountains”.
“Examples of the great accommodation prizes include Mantra on Salt Beach at the Tweed; Riverside Oaks Golf Resort at Cattai in the Hawkesbury; Shoal Bay Resort and Spa, plus whale watching cruise at Eden; Crowne Plaza at the Hunter Valley plus a visit to the Hunter Wetland Centre; and the de Russie Boutique Hotel at Dubbo including a family zoo package.”
“We’re very pleased by the response of the industry and I’m sure Sydneysiders will discover just how much is on offer in regional NSW.”
Mr Brown said the prizes would be valid for the APEC bonus long weekend adding, “Tourism NSW has also received about 300 deals from regional operators to encourage Sydneysiders to make the most of the long weekend and discover regional NSW.”
“Offers have been provided by accommodation venues, attractions and tour companies, and they can now be viewed on the APEC bonus long weekend section of www.visitnsw.com.”
The Bonus Long Weekend Getaway campaign ramps up in early August with five weeks of print and radio advertising, backed up by a special promotion involving package deal giveaways.
