NT Brolga Awards 2005
The Brolga Awards is the Northern Territory’s most prestigious tourism awards for excellence. The Brolga Awards are the first step for Northern Territory tourism businesses in a national awards process.
The main objective of the Brolga Awards is to encourage excellence in tourism and hospitality based companies, by providing recognition from industry peers. The Brolga Awards have been conducted for the past eighteen years, and have evolved into the most prestigious and prominent event within the tourism and hospitality industry calendar in the Northern Territory.
More than 20 businesses have been recognised in this year’s awards.
The Alice Springs Desert Park took out the Brolga Award for a Major Tourist Attraction while the Royal Flying Doctor Service, also in Alice Springs, won the Significant Tourist Attraction category.
The Darwin Airport was recognised with a Brolga Award in the New Tourism development section.
The Great Southern Railway and the Ghan won the Brolga in the Major Tour and Transport Operators category.
The Territory Government says 1.4 million visitors came to the Territory last financial year and spent $1.5 billion.
