Oaklands College wins business travel competition
Three students from Oaklands College in Welwyn Garden have won this year’s Winning Business travel management competition.
The event, previously known as the Diamond Challenge, is organised by Ayscough Travel and was sponsored for the first time this year by Six Continents Hotels.
The three members of the Oaklands College team – Lisa Odojukan (18); Melissa Vaz (20) and Cherine Smithson (21) – are all first year students studying for a HND in Travel and Tourism Management. They beat eight other colleges to win the competition which involved pitching for a fictitious business panel account.
