Oasis given go-ahead for Vancouver flights
HONG KONG – Oasis Hong Kong Airlines has been granted a licence to operate between Hong Kong and Vancouver by the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA), with the first flight confirmed for June 28.
The carrier had been awaiting formal confirmation to begin flights although it had permission to promote the services and sell tickets in Canada.
Oasis recently purchased three additional Boeing 747-400s from All Nippon Airways to operate the six-times-a-week service, which has a flight time of 12 hours.
Oasis CEO, Stephen Miller. told TravelMole that load factors on its current services between Hong Kong and London Gatwick have risen from 60 per cent at launch to a recent peak of 87 percent .
“We’re well above the targets we set ourselves,” he said.
“Vancouver is very appealing to Hong Kong people as both a business and leisure destination and there is a high demand for flights to Vancouver out of Hong Kong,” Miller said.
