Ocean Village ship refit as ’05-06 brochure launches
The majority of cabins on Ocean Village’s ship have been revamped as the line prepared for its Mediterranean summer season.
Almost 800 cabins have been refurbished together with the children’s play area and the ship’s coffee bar.
The refit comes as Ocean Village launches a new-look 2005-06 winter-summer brochure with two new Mediterranean fly-cruises for next year.
The line is adding calls in Ajacco, Corscia and Genoa for Portofino for next summer as part of the two new itineraries from Palma, Majorca.
Prices start at £599 for seven nights including a 45% discount. Ocean Village is seeing to attract groups by offering savings of up to £1,000 for four people sharing a cabin on a two-week Mediterranean holiday.
The new Hilton hotel in Barbados has been introduced as a winter cruise-and-stay option for 2005-06. Caribbean prices start at £1,749 for a week at the Hilton and a week at sea, while one week sailings start at £799.
The brochure has been overhauled with a “magazine-like” presentation including a ready-reference calendar on the back showing dates and destinations for all holidays, redesigned pages illustrating cabins and improved signposting. The brochure goes on sale on June 6.
Agents will receive “customer profile postcards” to support the launch identifying four potential types of customers who have never cruised before who would suit an Ocean Village cruise holiday.
