Olympic gold medal winner to speak at Travel Convention
Olympic gold medallist Katherine Grainger MBE is to be a special guest at the ABTA Travel Convention where she will be interviewed on stage.
Grainger is Britain’s most successful female rower, having added a gold medal at London 2012 to to her silver medals from Sydney in 2000, Athens in 2004, and Beijing in 2008. She also has six world championships titles and was appointed MBE in 2006 for services to rowing.
She is the first female British athlete to gain medals in four consecutive Olympic Games.
Attending the Convention in Turkey as a special guest of The Telegraph, Grainger will be interviewed on stage as part of a session on ‘Maximising your performance’ on October 12. She will be talking about her experiences of London 2012 and revealing the key ingredients for sustaining elite performance over a longer period, such as teamwork, overcoming challenges, motivation, winning and the importance of communication.
ABTA head of communications Victoria Bacon said: "The whole nation has been inspired this summer by watching athletes perform to their peak. We’re delighted to be able to bring some of that Olympic magic to the Convention with Katherine sharing her exciting and inspiring story with us in person.
"As a multiple Olympic medallist Katherine is a top performer and there is no doubt that we’ll all be able to learn something from her focus and motivation."
