On Holiday Group to create ‘own brand’ holidays for KAYAK
On Holiday Group (OHG) has teamed up with travel-comparison site KAYAK UK to supply KAYAK’s ‘own brand’ holidays.
OHG aims to sign exclusive deals with hoteliers which will only be available through KAYAK Holidays and which will appear alongside KAYAK’s third party holiday offers.
KAYAK’s ‘own brand’ holidays will feature in the top slots of each search on the comparison website.
OHG claims this will enable them to offer the slots to hoteliers for ‘flash sales’ if suppliers discount their rates.
KAYAK also plans 15,000 dedicated hotel landing pages to enable advertising within search engines such as Google.
Jan Valentin, VP of package travel at KAYAK, said: "KAYAK Holidays already includes most main UK OTAs to provide a huge range of inventory and deals from UK holiday providers to our customer.
"This partnership with OHG will see our customer further benefit from cost savings through the exclusively sourced deals and we’re delighted to be working with OHG on this project."
Although KAYAK operates websites in 18 countries, the ‘own brand’ holidays will only be available in the UK initially.
OHG said it will operate the KAYAK Holidays booking site on the same platform that powers the "Co op Value" brand and will provide both ATOL and ABTA protection for Kayak Holidays customers via its Midcounties Co op Consortia membership.
