On-line booking blunder for rugby fans
An internet booking error left rugby World Cup fans in New Zealand with the right hotel but in the wrong country.
South African couple Michael and Sunette Adendorff arrived to find that the Majestic Hotel they had booked was not in Wellington, New Zealand but nearly 12,000 miles away in Eastbourne, UK.
It was only after circling the city that they realised the hotel wasn’t on their GPS and asked for help, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The couple were enticed by the website of the Bay Majestic Eastbourne Hotel in Eastbourne, England, which advertises splendid views directly opposite the beach, "within a few minutes walk of the bustling pier and picturesque Redoubt Gardens, and lying close to the heart of the town".
Although apparently Mr Adendorff had been surprised the hotel was charging in British pounds.
