On the Beach gets Accredited Body status
On the Beach Travel Limited has been granted Accredited Body status by the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
It means it joins companies such as Barrhead, Global Travel Group, Hays Travel and Travel Counsellors who also hold that status.
Two of the its businesses, On the Beach Limited and Sunshine.co.uk~Limited, have been named as the first members of the new Accredited Body.
Paul Meehan, chief finance officer and ATOL accountable person for the group, said: "Alongside simplifying our licensing and trust structure, this also enables the company to add further businesses to our Accredited Body and we are open to attracting compatible new members as and when appropriate. Most importantly however, our current and future customers are provided with exactly the same holiday security and peace of mind that comes through ATOL protection."
On the Beach said it has taken this step to simplify its ATOL licensing and trust structure.
It is an ATOL Licence Holder and an Accredited Body, and On the Beach and Sunshine, as members of the Company’s Accredited Body, will trade under the Company’s ATOL Licence.~
It said there is no change from a consumer’s point of view and On the Beach and Sunshine are contacting all customers to provide them with their updated paperwork.~
The news came as the CAA confirmed that only 688 of the 797 ATOLs that expired yesterday have been granted.
Some 120 ATOL holders applied in the last week of March.
