On the Move: The latest industry appointments
APT has appointed Chris Hall as CEO, reporting to Barry Matters, APT group managing director.
The company has also appointed David Cox as general manager commercial. He was previously general manager administration.
Hall, previously APT general manager, will oversee the APT Business Unit that comprises the brands APT, Travelmarvel, Botanica World Discoveries and VIP Touring.
Hall said recent sales on all brands were “extraordinaryâ€, at a scale never experienced before by the 83-year-old McGeary family-owned company.
“In June we embarked on an unprecedented consumer marketing campaign to drive business through our retail partners’ doors and we were staggered by the response to this campaign,†he said.
â€In fact, it put enormous stress on our reservations services and this unfortunately resulted in unsatisfactory telephone delays for agents, but they persevered with us which is a reflection of how they rate our products.
“We have now employed additional staff in our reservations area to cope with demand and the delays are reducing.â€
