Online ski operator secures funding
Online ski tour operator, Directski.com, has received £2 million in funding from a venture capitalist.
The Dublin-based company, which launched in 2002, has struck the deal with leading Irish venture capital company, ACT.
The money will be used to expand UK operations on the back of projections that suggest the online ski booking market is growing at 5% per year.
Commenting on the announcement, ACT Venture Capital investment director, Charlie Glass said: “We are very excited about the changes occurring in the travel sector and see great opportunities for online players such as Directski.com as more and more people look to book their holidays online.”
The ATOL-bonded website, which won a TravelMole’s Web Award in 2003, offers real-time booking of a complete ski holiday including flights, transfers to the resort, accommodation, equipment hire and insurance.
