Online tentacles grow through franchises
Online accommodation supplier OctopusTravel.com has expanded with the addition of franchises in Turkey, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
The Cendant-owned company plans to open 29 franchises around the world by the end of this year.
International managing director, Daniela Wagner said: “Franchises are an effective means of expanding our product into new markets.
“We develop strategic partnerships with established and highly reputable local travel businesses – an arrangement that benefits both parties.
“Using local expertise and knowledge we can quickly become established in new countries without the time and set up costs associated with opening our own offices and employing our own staff.
“Our franchise partners benefit from being the first travel business in their country to sell OctopusTravel with our enviable inventory and rates on 20,000 hotels and 3,300 apartments and villas.”
