Online travel shopping mall opens in Singapore
SINGAPORE – TravClass.com, Asia Pacific’s largest travel e-classifieds, has gone “live†at www.travclass.com.
The new website will offer local travellers a full listing of travel services including accommodation, airfares, car rentals, cruises and rail journeys.
TravClass.com streamlines the process of choosing different services by hosting promotions from multiple vendors in a single site. This enables users to see in a snapshot the best deals without the need to search several sites.
“The days of cookie cutter tours are long over for intrepid Singapore travellers who are now empowered to make the best travel arrangements with the help of the Internet,†said Lee Cheun Kiat, country manager for Singapore, TravClass.com.
The company practices a transparent policy of not charging a commission for transactions performed on its site for consumers. It strictly derives its revenue from advertisers.
“TravClass.com is styled after a mega mall – a place where shoppers can browse for the best deals and deal directly with the vendors offering it. We merely facilitate this transaction with no mark-up on the price listed on the site,” added Lee.
It has already earned a nod of recognition from the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS) for being an effective and cost efficient media solution for the future.
“TravClass.com gives booking tour packages a new twist,†said Robert Khoo, chief executive officer, NATAS.
On board are a number of advertisers including carriers KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Garuda Indonesia, travel agents ASA Holidays, Contiki Holidays, PriceBreaker and STA Travel, online reservation portals Priceline.com, and travel search engine Mobissimo.
More than 50,000 users have already signed up for regular updates.
