Online video hotel review site opens
A new online channel which claims to be the first independent video hotel review and bookings site opens today (Wednesday).
The site – www.hotels.tv – selects and video-reviews hotels offering a visual perspective with independent reviews and commentary. The site also has a booking facility.
It launches with 20 video reviews but plans to increase its content to cover a number of global destinations over the next year.
Properties are assessed on levels of service quality, cleanliness, maintenance, design and ambience. Other factors taken into account include the hotel’s commitment to the environment and its unique selling points.
CEO Harrison Brown said: “The idea behind the site is that it gives a perspective of each hotel which is as ‘real’ as possible, without being clouded by marketing from the hotels themselves.
“We have all had an experience where we’ve booked a room based on a picture of accommodation on a website and when we arrive it’s not what we expected. This is what Hotels.tv wants to help alleviate – portraying an honest picture of quality hotels and managing customer expectations.”
