Ontario tourism showcased during Pan-Am Games
Ontario will showcase its tourism opportunities, culture and heritage during the Ontario Pan-Am Games next year through a series of events and entertainment throughout the duration of the Games.
A ‘Celebration Zone’ held at Harbourfront Centre will be the focus of events aimed at highlighting the region’s tourism, sport, culture, and innovation.
Offering free access, interactive exhibits, entertainment, and culinary demonstrations, it will take place daily from July 10, 2015 through August 16, 2015.
All progams are organized by the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation, which is a division of the ministry of tourism.
Up to 250,000 visitors are expected during the month-long Games and the Celebration Zone will cater to a diverse cross section of sports fans, with events and entertainment targeted at aboriginal, LGBTQ, Latino-Hispanic, Caribbean, other ethnic communities.
"The Celebration Zone will leverage the opportunity of the 2015 Games to showcase Ontario as a premier tourism destination. Visitors will be able to discover and experience the best of Ontario – great entertainment, interactive exhibits, authentic culinary adventures and more – all on Toronto’s iconic waterfront," said Ronald Holgerson, CEO of Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership.
