OpenJaw Technologies develops innovative technology tool for RADIUS – the global travel company

Saturday, 02 Aug, 2005 0

Dublin, Ireland, August 2, 2005- OpenJaw Technologies, a leading provider of XML technology solutions, today announced that it has developed the agency desktop and XML server technology powering the recently announced RADIUS Wheel for member agencies connecting to Amadeus, Sabre, Apollo, Galileo and Worldspan.

When a RADIUS agent makes a reservation, the RADIUS Wheel checks the database for available proprietary inventory that can be offered at a lower rate than the originally
booked services. These counter-offers will be displayed within seconds to the booking agent, who can then propose them at point-of-sale to the client. The alternatives can be special prices and promotions negotiated by RADIUS, the individual travel management company or the client themselves.

“RADIUS’s leadership position in the provision of advanced technology solutions to their members meant that we needed a partner that shared our technology vision, but also had extensive travel industry knowledge “, said Jay Richmond, CIO, at RADIUS.”OpenJaw’s knowledge of the industry and the OpenTravel™ Alliance XML specifications made them an ideal partner for this ground-breaking development.”

Commenting on the new development, OpenJaw’s Chief Technology Officer, John Lambe said, “The RADIUS Wheel application uses advanced XML and Web Services technologies, including the message specifications of the OpenTravel™ Alliance to provide real-time counter-offers, with inventory availability checking, direct to the agents desktop. OpenJaw is proud to have been chosen as technology partner for this project by RADIUS, which is significant in providing a highly flexible platform to deliver innovative content direct to the desktops of their member agencies.”
