Jobs at risk at Hoseasons as company announces office closures
Scores of jobs are at risk at Hoseasons and sister brand cottages.com as parent company Awaze is planning to close its call centre in Earby and other offices, possibly including Exeter, Dartmouth, Grassington and Leyburne.
It is planning to move its head office to Manchester, while its office in Lowestoft in East Anglia will become a contact centre for customers and homeowners.
Six other smaller offices, including Arran, Alnwick, Whitby, Keswick, Windermere and Salcombe are likely to remain open.
Awaze plans to retain some staff currently working in offices earmarked for closure by allowing them to work from home or relocating them to its new office in Manchester, due to open by October.
About 150 roles are understood to be affected by the office closures.
The company said it will create a ‘tech hub’ in Manchester to support its cottages.com, Hoseasons, Landal GreenParks and Novasol brands.
"We believe the opening of this new business unit will ensure we remain at the forefront of self-catering and vacation rentals," said Henrik Kjellberg, CEO of Awaze.
"Manchester is already the home of some of the biggest names in travel, and with good transport links to our European offices, it felt like a natural choice for our new centre of excellence. We look forward to welcoming new talent to our existing digital teams and creating a long-term home in the city for the Group."
