Opodo signs Hilton distribution deal
Hilton International has become a preferred hotel provider for Opodo in a new distribution partnership.
Opodo customers will be guaranteed real time access to Hilton’s best available deals as part of the arrangement.
The attraction of online firm Opodo – majority owned by Amadeus – to the hotel chain is that it operates in the top five European online travel markets, which represent around 85% of all online travel sales in western Europe.
Hilton International commercial operations group president Jurgen Fischer said: “We have secured a number of great new partnerships recently and it is fantastic to welcome on board another big name in the travel industry.
“Opodo is very important to the European travel market and has increasingly become an online travel agency of choice for European travellers and product providers. Hilton is delighted that this deal will enable wider access to its best deals and extensive inventory.”
Opodo hotels director John Ryan said: “We are always looking for ways in which to make our service even better for our customers and this partnership does that, giving them access to an exceptional range of quality hotels and hotel services.”
Both companies said the deal was in line with the equitable distribution contract terms announced by Hilton in September 2004. The terms of the contract ensure that the partnership is openly fair for both parties, while at the same time also paving the way to better deals for consumers.
