Opodo snaps up ex-BA director

Opodo has completed the latest stage of its executive recruitment drive by hiring two leading industry figures.

Carl Michel has been appointed director of product strategy. Mr Michel was once chief executive of Deutsche BA, before being appointed commercial director at British Airways. His job at Opodo will be to head up airline relationships and develop Opodo’s non-air products.

Mr Michel’s most recent job was at Energis plc, where he was chairman and chief executive of German operations.

Opodo has also announced the appointment of Richard Hadfield as UK country manager.

Mr Hadfield was formerly director of sales, new channels for Thomas Cook Limited. He will be responsible for all sales and marketing for Opodo.co.uk.
