Orion Expedition Cruises nominated twice in “The Australian Travel & Tourism Awards 2006”
The Australian newspaper in association with the Weekend Australian Travel and Indulgence section has announced that Orion Expedition Cruises has been short-listed as a finalist in two categories of its highly regarded “Travel & Tourism Awards”.
Nominated in both Best Tour Operator and Innovative Tourism Experience categories led Sarina Bratton, Managing Director of Orion Expedition Cruises, to comment that she was delighted Orion had twice been selected by the panel of judges for nomination in the finals.
“Orion is only part way through the second year of operation in Australia and so it is especially exciting to hear that we have made a positive impact so quickly” said Sarina. “Win or lose – and we hope to win of course – we are flattered to be included. Feedback from past guests is invariably positive and this word of mouth endorsement seems to be getting to the market. Many Orion guests are now old friends, having already travelled with us on multiple expeditions but it is always heartening to receive positive feedback from travel and media industry leaders, as represented by the judging panel”.
Readers of The Australian will be asked to vote in 14 categories making up the Travel & Tourism Awards 2006 and the winners announced on Friday 10th November at a Gala Ceremony held at the Palazzo Versace Hotel on the Gold Coast. The awards will be presented by The Hon Fran Bailey, MP Minister for Small Business and Tourism.
