Ortitz says new property comparisons a first for online travel

Sunday, 10 Aug, 2010 0

Orbitz says it is a first for online travel agencies: new hotel search tools that range from Google maps with real-time room rates and street views, as well as newcomer scores and amenities.

“With the launch of its comparison tools Orbitz is the first major online travel website to enable detailed side-by-side property comparison upfront on the initial hotel search results page,” the company says.

“Now with the new Orbitz hotel search experience and side-by-side comparison tools we’re delivering powerful new capabilities that make it easier for customers to choose the hotel that’s right for them,” said Barney Harford, president and CEO, Orbitz Worldwide.

Other recent Orbitz initiatives include the launch of its TotalPrice hotel search results and its Hotel Price Assurance.

The company recently started a new ad campaign,” When You Orbitz, You Know,” which it says backs up the new tools that also include street views and filters for star ratings.
