Online hotel booking platform Booking.com announced the launch of its new accelerator program aimed at start-ups focused on sustainable practices in the tourism industry.

The Booking.com Booster program will ‘identify, mentor and fund enterprising startups from around the world’ which make a positive impact.

The three-week program will be hosted by Booking.com in June in Amsterdam.

Grants worth up to €500,000 are up for grabs for start-ups.

"At Booking.com, our mission is to empower people to experience more of the world. There are thousands of beautiful, unique destinations to explore in every corner of the globe, but that’s not something we should take for granted. Through Booking.com Booster, we want to help ventures in sustainable tourism accelerate their growth in order to maximise the impact they can have globally," said Gillian Tans, CEO of Booking.com.

"By identifying and funding these outstanding startups, sharing our expertise and working together, we can explore and learn how best to protect the future of the destinations we love so much."

The program has been designed in association with partner organisation Impact Hub and features workshops, lectures, and coaching sessions with industry experts.

After the program selected start-ups can also benefit from weekly mentoring sessions from expert Booking.com sponsors.
